The Vision

From RC car to unmanned ground vehicle.

RigidDrive Autonomous takes the AI perception and control technology developed for CNC motion control and applies it to autonomous ground vehicles. The same closed-loop feedback architecture, the same sensor fusion approach, the same sovereign data pipeline — different platform.

The prototype platform is an RC car equipped with 360-degree camera vision, AI perception running on dedicated edge compute, and a competition-grade radio for instant human safety override. Every autonomous run generates training data that streams back to RigidVault, building a proprietary dataset with real value.

Development Roadmap

Phase 1 — RC Prototype

Dedicated AI compute module mounted on RC platform with 4x wide-angle cameras for 360° vision. Competition-grade radio transmitter as safety override. Imitation learning — the AI watches human driving and learns to replicate it. Every run logged to RigidVault.

Phase 2 — Autonomous Navigation

Object detection, lane following, obstacle avoidance on a dedicated backyard track. Continuous autonomous runs with WiFi telemetry streaming to RigidVault. Dataset grows with every session. SLAM mapping builds environment awareness.

Phase 3 — Scale & Defense

Transition perception and control stack to full-size platforms. TACOM manages the Army's ground vehicle fleet 5 miles from our facility. Autonomous ground vehicle perception in GPS-denied environments is an active Army research priority.

Every autonomous run — camera feeds, sensor logs, AI decisions — streams to RigidVault over WiFi. The dataset grows continuously. Companies pay millions for labeled real-world driving data. We're building ours in the backyard.

Autonomous ground vehicle perception and control is directly relevant to TACOM's unmanned systems programs. A small company with a working autonomous platform, proprietary training data, and a CMMC-compliant vault is exactly the kind of nontraditional contractor the DoD actively seeks.
