ROBOTIC STRUCTURES — RIGIDCORE

Lighter arms. Faster cycles. Same stiffness.

The gyroid composite beam geometry that holds micron tolerances in a CNC machine is the same structure that reduces mass in robot arms without sacrificing stiffness. Lower arm mass means faster cycle times, smaller motors, and less heat — without changing the load capacity.

The Physics

Why robot arm mass matters.

Cycle Time

A lighter arm accelerates and decelerates faster. In a facility running millions of repetitive cycles, a 0.1 second reduction per cycle can translate into $300,000+ annual savings. Mass is the constraint.

Motor Selection

Arm mass directly determines the torque required from every motor in the kinematic chain. A 40% mass reduction means smaller motors, lower heat, less energy, and longer service life.

Precision

Vibration in a robot arm degrades end-of-arm precision. The gyroid composite structure damps vibration more effectively than welded steel or aluminum extrusion — improving both accuracy and surface finish.
