Quality and reliability engineering is a discipline built on statistical rigor and domain knowledge that takes years to develop. A reliability engineer running Weibull analysis and accelerated life testing on an automotive powertrain component is not the same practitioner as a quality technician checking parts against a control plan — even though both might carry a ‘Quality Engineer’ title.

The toolset reveals the depth. Weibull++ means reliability statistics and lifetime prediction. Minitab with ANOVA and DOE means designed experiments and process capability. DFMEA in AIAG-VDA format means functional failure mode analysis at the design level. Reliasoft XFMEA means structured reliability program management.
