Scan data with no drawings is not a deliverable.

The problem

Surveyors collect the field data. Architects and engineers need sealed drawings. There is a growing gap between those two things — and almost nobody filling it fast enough. Job boards for CAD drafters and surveying support staff are stacked right now. Firms have the data and the clients. They don’t have the people to turn one into the other.

The standard workflow hasn’t changed in twenty years. Field crew captures the point cloud. It sits on a hard drive or a shared folder while a backlogged drafter eventually gets to it. The surveyor misses the permit window. The contractor waits. The project slips. The fee doesn’t.

It isn’t just surveyors. Architecture and engineering firms buy LiDAR equipment, commission aerial photogrammetry, and receive ReCap exports from their clients — and then the data sits because nobody has time to process it into something a building department will accept.

A point cloud is not a drawing. A mesh is not an as-built. An orthomosaic is not a permitted construction document. The gap between capture and submission is where projects stall — and it’s the gap we close.

Common questions answered

What file formats do you accept?

LAS, LAZ, E57, Autodesk ReCap (RCP/RCS), photogrammetry exports in OBJ, PLY, or FBX, and standard DWG and DXF if you have existing CAD. If your scanner outputs something not on that list, contact us — format incompatibility is almost never the actual blocker.

What do we actually deliver?

Dimensioned 2D engineering drawings in DWG and PDF. Fully parametric SOLIDWORKS CAD models. BIM-ready exports in IFC format. As-built documentation packages. Standards-referenced drawing notes aligned to ASME, ASCE, IBC, or your project-specific requirements. PE-sealed structural drawings and permit-ready construction document sets for projects that require them. And optionally, sovereign storage of the complete record in RigidVault with an immutable chain of custody.

How does the PE seal work?

We produce the drawing package. A licensed Professional Engineer reviews and seals it. The PE review and coordination is included in the project scope — it is not a separate service you arrange yourself. The PE’s availability and turnaround time is confirmed at project kickoff. For survey plats requiring a licensed Land Surveyor’s seal, the same model applies: your LS of record, or a partner we connect you with, seals the document. This is the standard model across the industry.

How long does it take?

Turnaround depends on project complexity, not on a billing clock. A straightforward as-built of a single structure from existing scan data: typically 3–5 business days. A full construction document set for a permit submission: 7–10 business days. Complex multi-building or infrastructure projects are scoped individually. We confirm the timeline before you commit, not after.

Is this AI-generated or engineered?

Both, in the right order. AI handles point cloud processing, geometry classification, and parametric model reconstruction — the mechanical steps that would otherwise cost a drafter days. A human engineer with 30+ years of NX CAD, automotive, aerospace, and defense manufacturing experience reviews, dimensions, and applies judgment to everything the AI produces. The speed is AI. The quality is engineering. Neither works well without the other.

Who owns the data?

You do. All scan data, drawings, and project files are yours. If you choose RigidVault storage, your data lives on our sovereign, Michigan-sovereign hardware with zero cloud dependency — not on AWS, Azure, or Google. Access is controlled by you, chain of custody is immutable, and your data is never used for any other purpose. If you want the full record deleted, it is deleted. No exceptions.

Do you need to be the ones who captured the scan?

No. The most common engagement is Tier C — you bring the existing scan data, we build the drawings. Your field crew, your scanner, your client’s existing data. We take it from there. No capture fees, no equipment requirement on your end, no learning curve for your team.

RigidAero Aerial Platform — Operational

Sub-250 g weight class (no FAA registration required for recreational use). 51-minute flight endurance per battery with 3 batteries on site for continuous operations. 4K/60fps video capture. Omnidirectional obstacle avoidance. Aerial photogrammetry processed into georeferenced orthomosaics and 3D models ready for the scan-to-drawing pipeline.

The full pipeline when you need it: RigidAero handles aerial photogrammetry. Titan Tech Scans handles ground-level structured light capture. RigidEngineering converts the data into drawings. RigidStandards governs the compliance notes. RigidVault stores the complete sovereign record. Every step is a separate service you can engage independently or combine.
